Residents of Flint, Michigan have been fighting for clean water since 2014 when it was discovered the city was full of lead-tainted water. -Lead began leaching from pipes after the city of Flint tapped the Flint River for water to use, without properly treating the water first. The corrosion from the untreated water caused a significant amount of lead to leech from pipes.

A February 13th report from 9&10 News stated that though over 8,000 bad water pipes have been replaced in Flint since 2014, there are still thousands of bad water lines in the city.
