It turns out Hulu’s “The Act” captured the eerie scene of Dee Dee Blanchard’s murder, quite accurately, according to a newly released clip from Dr. Phil.

In unaired footage from Dr. Phil’s 2017 interview shared to Instagram, Gypsy describes what she did in the intense moment her mother was slain by her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

“I put my hands over my ears and then it all went quiet”

For those who aren’t already familiar with the story, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is serving a 10-year second-degree murder sentence for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

Dee Dee Blanchard allegedly had a mental illness called Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MBSP), a mental health problem that causes caregivers to make up illnesses or cause injury in a person under their care, in an effort to evoke sympathy from others.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was forced by Dee Dee Blanchard to fake illnesses throughout her entire life, while Dee Dee fraudulently raked in donations from charity organizations.

During her trial, Gypsy admitted to asking Nicholas Godejohn to murder her mother because she felt it was the only way out of her mother’s alleged abuse. Godejohn granted Gypsy her request and is now serving a life sentence for the first-degree murder of Dee Dee Blanchard.

If you watched Hulu’s “The Act” then you’ll recall that Gypsy was shown hiding out in the bathroom covering her ears, after supplying her boyfriend with a knife to commit the disturbing act of violence.

The recent unaired clip describing Gypsy’s actions during her mother’s murder was shared in light of Dr. Phil’s new podcast about the compelling case.

In the preview of the next episode, Gypsy also described the moment Nicholas arrived at her residence with the murderous mission on his mind.

“He was wearing a hoodie, dark clothing and a t-shirt that had clowns on it,” Blanchard continued “I then handed him the knife.”
